Best Practices in Rural STEMI Care

Built for Montana clinicians, by Montana educators, using Montana data.

Best Practice Medicine is proud to announce the launch of our latest education initiative, Best Practices in Rural STEMI Care – The Mission Continues. This initiative is made possible by funding provided by the American Heart Association and the Helmsley Charitable Trust.

These clinical education curriculums continue the mission and initiatives of the American Heart Association's Mission Lifeline program, started in 2014 and concluded in 2018.

Best Practice Medicine’s curriculum development team of clinical experts has created three purpose-built programs. These programs are founded on the data collected from Mission Lifeline and in collaboration with STEMI champion representatives of Montana’s nine Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) centers. Merging the research and the analysis from the PCI centers these curriculums address relevant and timely barriers facing STEMI patients in Montana’s clinical care system.

Starting in October of 2018 Montana clinicians will have access to this subsidized and accredited hybrid program. An initial web-based learning component covers the broad challenges facing both pre-hospital and hospital-based clinicians including a review of the current guidelines and best practices in STEMI care. Following completion of the online content, two purpose-built hands-on curriculums are available, one for pre-hospital providers and one for hospital-based providers.

Thanks to the American Heart Association these programs are being offered for a limited time at no cost to the participants.
