The Journey

Here's the thing: most of us love EMS. There is nothing quite like working with your favorite partner, practicing medicine in moments that matter, and serving communities you care about. Simultaneously, EMS is one of the harshest, most mentally and physically challenging, and dangerous careers.

  • A National Registry License is required for all positions.
  • No less than three years of 911 EMS experience.
  • Most assignments require PHTLS, ACLS, and PALS for Paramedics.

Travel Paramedicine with Best Practice Medicine is not where bad clinicians go to hide. We work in some of the country's most challenging and demanding 911 systems, and we hand-pick EMS professionals that we would want to work with in the field. Our top team members often have more than a decade of experience and are unusually mature and highly competent.

We have a simple philosophy.

We don't hire, work with, or for jerks. Period.

Frequently Asked Questions

As a rapidly emerging market, you can imagine we get calls from prospective clients and new team members all the time. While we love to visit, the inquiries are getting a little overwhelming. Here are the top questions we bet you're thinking about.

  • What kind of License do I need? - We require all travel paramedics, AEMTs, and EMTs to hold valid National Registry licenses. Based on the travel clients' needs, additional state and local-level licensing is almost always required. Holding multiple state licenses is a competitive advantage when applying for a position with us.
  • How much will I make? - Compensation is distinct to each assignment and may change at specific interactions while at an assignment. We work with each member of our team to make sure that the total compensation plan for each assignment is understood well before you commit.
  • Are travel paramedics contractors? - No, all BPM travel paramedics are W2 employees of Best Practice Medicine.
  • Where will I live? - Housing options are also distinct based on the client's desires and needs. In some circumstances, the client will source and provide short-term housing; in others, you will receive a stipend to address local housing costs.
